2.2.3 Acceptance of Contract Terms

By subscribing to the Island Riddle Event, all participants agree unconditionally to the prices displayed online (for individuals) or on the offer and to the event management fee (for groups) and these general terms and conditions.

2.3 Payment

Individuals make Island Riddle payments online and due to Covid-19 situation paying upon arrival is also possible.

For group orders, Söderby-Boden will send an invoice for the entire amount by mail or e-mail.

If a payment has been made which has not been paid despite the reminder of the payment, it will be necessary to enforce a judicial remedy (foreclosure), the participant will be charged an additional fee of EUR 100 to cover the costs incurred by Söderby-Boden.

Payment Service Provider

Paytrail Oyj (2122839-7) acts as a payment broker and payment service provider in cooperation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. Paytrail plc will appear as the payee on the bank statement or card bill and will forward the payment to the merchant. Paytrail plc is licensed as a payment institution. In the event of a complaint, please contact the supplier first.

3. Amendment of the Agreement

3.1 Individuals

3.1.1 No right of withdrawal

Orders cannot be canceled, but can be changed or moved. If attendees are unable to attend the event, individuals must notify the service provider immediately and at least 48 hours prior to the initial booking start time. You can change your Island Riddle order by contacting customer service.

3.1.2 Modifying an Order

The number of participants can be increased to a maximum of six. Participants can switch to another time on the same day free of charge. This must be done 24 hours before the initial booking start time. You can change your Island Riddle order by contacting customer service.

3.2 Groups

3.2.1 No right of withdrawal

Orders cannot be canceled, but can be changed or moved.

3.2.2 Modifying an Order

After the booking, the number of participants may be reduced up to three days prior to the agreed departure date. If the number of participants is reduced two days before or after the departure date, 50% of the entry fee will be refunded from the original order amount.

3.2.3 Change the departure date

The order can be shifted to another day with free departure times at no extra charge when the transfer occurs three days before the agreed departure date. If group participation cannot be postponed to an alternate date, the subscription amount will be fully charged.

4. Scope of Service

4.1 Your Services

The Island Riddle Route comprises a variety of services. As the route is constantly improving, there may be small differences between orders. Söderby-Boden reserves the right to make changes to the services featured on the Website even at short notice.

The following services are listed in the service provider’s service list:

– Use of subscribed Island Riddle Route

– Reservation and information services – Using an advisory service via SMS or telephone – Services required for the game, such as – Equipment rental

The list of services mentioned in the booking confirmation and / or order determines the scope of service provided by the service provider.

Island Riddle Reservation Confirmation entitles the holder to use the route and equipment needed for the game.

5. Warranty

The Island Riddle Route runs outdoors and the controls are accessible to everyone.

Thus, despite regular checks and route maintenance, it is possible that individual controls may be briefly out of service (or only partially operational). In such a situation, participants are not entitled to any warranty claims from Söderby-Boden.

In addition, the warranty does not apply in the absence of advice, instructions or other information.

6. Conditions for participation

6.1 Requirements Required from Participants

Participants must be able to walk the trails and navigate along the map. This requires a normal sense of direction. No local or regional knowledge is required.

The recommended minimum age is six years. For classrooms, participation from grade 1 is recommended, with each group having a guardian of at least 16 years of age.

Children may only attend with their parents or with a guardian aged 16 or over. Each team must have at least one person over the age of 16.

6.2 Equipment required by participants

The following equipment is required on the Island Riddle Route:

– each team must have at least one smart phone with internet access to receive and make calls; participants will be responsible for all call and user charges.

– casual wear and good shoes suited to the particular weather conditions.

7. Liability issues and insurance

Participants travel on the Island Riddle route at their own risk. It is up to each individual participant to decide whether they need insurance.

Söderby-Boden will not be liable for any direct or indirect personal or property damage caused by the use of the Island Riddle Route and its controls.

8. Privacy

Data is collected, stored and processed for the Island Riddle order as required by law.

Personal information, such as that provided at the time of ordering or via email (such as name and contact information), is used solely for correspondence with the customer and is processed solely for the purpose for which the information is provided. Personal information will be disclosed to third parties only when it is necessary for business reasons. Personal information may also be disclosed when required by law or expressly authorized by the customer.

All third-party services used to process data are subject to the provisions of data protection laws. Customer agrees that all Participant Information may be disclosed to the Helpdesk staff and used partner companies for inquiries and emergencies.

9. Copyright

Copyrights and all other rights in Isla’s Riddle Route, Starter Documents, Plans, Images, Texts and other Söderby-Bode materials remain with the Service Provider.

Reproduction, transfer, disclosure or publication of any Island Riddle Idea, Starting Documents and / or other products of Söderby-Boden, whether in electronic or otherwise form, is prohibited and will result in prosecution under civil and / or criminal law.

10. Other General Provisions

10.1 Severability and Coverage of Contract Terms

If any provision of the agreement between Söderby-Boden and its customers is invalid or becomes invalid, the validity of the other provisions of the agreement will not be affected. The parties to the invalid order shall replace the invalid order with a valid order as close as possible to the invalid order. This provision applies to any potential loopholes in the Agreement, mutatis mutandis.

10.2 Changes to the General Terms and Conditions

Söderby-Boden reserves the right to make changes to these General Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The version available on the website at the time of the contract is valid.

10.3 Jurisdiction and applicable law

The contractual relationship between the service provider and its customers is governed by Finnish law. Any disputes concerning the contract will be settled exclusively in Helsinki, Finland.
